Roles and Responsibilities
Sales and Shop Management
- Work in our storefront at 258 Commercial St., downtown North Sydney.
- Assist customers and provide a welcoming environment.
- Maintain familiarity with LQ's product assortment, sales and promotions.
- Receive and track inventory, and price products.
- Provide product size and style guidance for customers.
- Assist with visual merchandising and window displays.
- Develop next level relationships with customers and initiate proactive communication with them about new product arrivals, events and other store happenings.
- Conceive and implement contests and promotions.
- Organize in-store events.
- Assist in product buying and the sourcing of new product.
- Maintain positive relationships and liaise with consignment vendors, wholesale accounts, and brand reps.
- Light cleaning of the shop, i.e. sweep and mop, organize supplies, water plants, break down boxes, sort recycling, etc.
Social Media and Content Marketing
- Develop and execute compelling content (story generation, writing, photography) for social media channels, including the LQ blog and Instagram and Facebook accounts.
- Conceive and implement contests and promotions.
- Design email newsletters and web graphics.
- Assist with product photography.
- Monitor and manage online customer communication.
E-commerce
- Verify, package, and ship online orders.
- Assist with customer communication, package tracking, and returns.
- Create accurate and persuasive web copy for products.
- Work in Shopify, maintaining inventory and updating our website.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is dependable, trustworthy, and dedicated to our team and company.
- Has an entrepreneurial mindset and is capable of wearing many different hats, like managing social media, tracking inventory, crafting window displays, updating our website, ordering product, doing basic photography and graphic design, visual merchandising, cleaning, writing and editing, maintaining organizational documents, and monitoring and replying to customer emails and messages.
- Enjoys working as both a part of a team and independently.
- Is passionate about supporting small business, makers, and shopping local.
- Is an out-of-the-box thinker, and would love to think of ways to creatively help our vendors.
- Is a self-starter, shows initiative, and seeks solutions on their own.
- Gives great attention to presentation and detail.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Word and Google Workspace, and has some Excel experience.
- Is between 15-30 years old.
- Has reliable transportation.
- Is available to work some evenings and two Saturdays per month.
- Writes succinctly and professionally.
- Has the ability to use digital technology, and has command of best practices and trends in social media marketing and understands how to both build and convert an audience.
- Experience in marketing, entrepreneurship, promotions, photography, or graphic design would be considered an asset.
- Is friendly, personable, polite, enthusiastic, and loves to work hard and have fun. :)
