Halifax Paper Hearts' journey began on a trip to Calgary, Alberta to celebrate the wedding of two women they loved dearly. In recognition of the very special day, they wanted to give the couple a simple, quirky, contemporary note card. After a visit to a few large department stores, they were only able to find cards featuring champagne glasses, wedding cakes, and “bride & groom” illustrations on them.

Halifax Paper Hearts' first design, “Let’s Grow Old Together”, was inspired by this love story; a special card to celebrate the sacred experience of growing old together. They believe in creating opportunities for people to cultivate closer connections through the written expression of love, celebration, encouragement & grace.

And in our busy lives, sometimes hours, provinces or countries apart, don't we all need opportunities to create closer connections, beyond the screen?

Each and every card is an original design, crafted from the heart, printed in small batches by a locally owned printing house, and hand-packaged in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The cards are printed on FSC certified paper, which means they're made using forestry practices that are environmentally sustainable. In addition, Halifax Paper Hearts donates a portion of proceeds annually to an Atlantic Canadian charity.

The premiere collection has a card for everyone in your life: your spouse, partner, friend, sibling, high-achiever, cat/doughnut/cupcake/pb&j enthusiast, or loved one that lives a little too far away.

Owner Stefanie says she's come to learn that one of her purposes in life is to connect people - both to each other and to opportunities. With the launch of Halifax Paper Hearts, she's thrilled to give people an opportunity to cultivate closeness through the unspeakable power of written expression. And, she hopes that you love giving the cards as much as she loves making them.

LQ is very happy to be one of the first retail locations in Atlantic Canada to carry this heartwarming company and its products. Shop our entire Halifax Paper Hearts collection in-store or online at www.laquaintrelle.ca
