Nothing makes our hearts flutter more than seeing and hearing about you finding an LQ item that bubbles your confidence, fills you with joy, and makes you shine. Over the past few years, our highlights have been our interactions with you in-store or online - helping you find that special outfit or that perfect gift. Over the past few years, you've become more than customers. You've become friends of LQ!

In the A Day In The Life Of A Quaintrelle series, were getting to know more about YOU. How do you, our customers - our quaintrelles, spend your days? What inspiring things are you doing in your community? How do you live a quaintrelle life, and why?

We're excited to learn more about our LQ community and we're sharing your stories of how you emphasize a life of passion expressed through personal style, leisurely pastimes, charm, and cultivation of life’s pleasures.

Today we're getting to know Jessica Carter, a wife of a dairy farmer in rural south western Ontario, stay-at-home mom, and dreamer of small business ownership!

First of all, what are you wearing?

I'm wearing the Vintage Tea Party Tunic with jeggings and black boots.

What are some of your favorite pastimes?

My favorite pastimes include reading good books, antiquing/flea marketing and enjoying a great cup of tea!  I also enjoy traveling, when we get the chance, and teaching my children about all the wonderful things they can see in Canada.  I also love spending time with family (including the ones far away in Nova Scotia!).

What are your favorite styles?

I love anything vintage or retro, even if it is a modern piece that has a vintage/retro vibe to it.  I also love scarves (19 in my closet right now!), shoes, and vintage/vintage-inspired jewelry and bags.  I love throwing on a pair of skinny jeans, top and cool vintage beads!

What is your definition of a Quaintrelle?

My definition of a Quaintrelle is someone who is passionate about what they do in life, but they also exude grace, charm and respect.  I also see a bit of a romantic in a Quaintrelle.  Basically, you could look at a Quaintrelle as similar to a gentleman!  I think a Quaintrelle’s life and passion is reflected in her style, pastimes and manner.

How does your life reflect Quaintrellism? And, what does it mean to you?

I’m passionate about what I do! Whether it is something to do with my faith, family, hobbies, home, or fashion, I put my heart into it!  I also try to be graceful and respectful in what I do, say and even wear, and I try to teach my children this as well.

To me, style is when you look at a person and you can see that they are comfortable in what they are wearing.  It’s not about what everyone else is wearing!  Trends and fads, come and go, what matters is that whatever you choose to put on your body, you feel good in and you love!  Your style should be a reflection of who you are, and that may mean wearing things that others will regard as not being in style.  Wear what you love, and love what you wear!

Thanks, Jessica!
