Today we introduce a new blog series that will pop up here regularly on the LQ blog: A Day in the Life of a Quaintrelle.

Nothing makes our hearts flutter more than seeing and hearing about you finding an LQ item that bubbles your confidence, fills you with joy, and makes you shine. Over the past few years, our highlights have been our interactions with you in-store or online - helping you find that special outfit or that perfect gift. Over the past few years, you've become more than customers. You've become friends of LQ!

While we know what cut in a dress you prefer, and what colour makes you glow, we wanted to know more about YOU. How do you, our customers - our quaintrelles, spend your days? What inspiring things are you doing in your community? How do you live a quaintrelle life, and why?

Through this series we're learning more about our LQ community and we're sharing your stories of how you emphasize a life of passion expressed through personal style, leisurely pastimes, charm, and cultivation of life’s pleasures.

We begin this month getting to know Heather, a Grade 2 teacher from Cape Breton!

First of all, what are you wearing?

I'm wearing the Pretty In Paisley Tunic (it is oh so comfortable!) with brown tights and my favourite brown riding boots.

What are some of your favourite pastimes?

Running, crafting, reading, spending time outdoors (when it’s warm!), and exploring the little nooks and crannies of Cape Breton :)

What are your favourite styles?

Dresses, tunics, tights, boots, scarves, sweater coats, and blazers.  I like to layer up, especially in the winter, and dresses or tunics are always great with a cozy sweater coat or dressed up with a blazer.  They are also very comfortable, and with being on my feet all day, comfy is what I’m looking for! I like bright colours and funky, fun patterns, and I always look for items that are unique.

For jewellery, I like simple pieces for the day time that have meaning to me.  I also like to have jewellery that is made locally with beach stones, sterling silver or recycled items.

A quaintrelle is a woman who emphasizes a life of passion expressed through personal style, leisurely pastimes, charm, and cultivation of life’s pleasures. What is your own definition?

I think my definition of a Quaintrelle would be a person that does what they want to do because they like it and not because everyone else is doing it.  For their style, they are a person that has a classic and polished style that reflects their personality in some way.

How does your lifestyle reflect Quaintrellism? And, what does it mean to you?

I believe my lifestyle reflects Quaintrellism because I do what I enjoy and I do not worry about what others think.  For my style, I wear things that I am comfortable in but I am able to show off my personality with bright, fun colours and patterns.

To have your own style means to have your own uniqueness that makes you, you! It's a characteristic that defines who you are.

Thanks Heather!
