My Hopes For You
My Hopes for You: Love, Mom xoxo highlights key life lessons that can be applied to any child as they mature, develop, and evolve into adulthood. Staying humble, finding humour, remaining curious, and not taking this big world too seriously are helpful reminders for all young readers. Above all, this book is about knowing, feeling, and believing that family is everything, reminding children how much they are adored, cherished, and loved.
About the Illustrator
Illustrations for My Hopes for You: Love, Mom xoxo were lovingly created by my uncle, Ron Evely, a self-taught caricature artist born and raised in Whitney Pier, Nova Scotia. With more than 25 years of experience in political cartooning and live caricature, Ron has had his work commissioned both locally and internationally and previously served as the editorial cartoonist for the Cape Breton Post.
Most meaningful to this project, Ron is the brother of Dr. Joanne Pyke, the inspiration behind this book, making his involvement especially personal. Illustrating his baby sister’s story has been deeply meaningful to him.
