We’re pleased to now be retailers of Deanne Fitzpatrick Studio’s rug hooking kits!
Deanne Fitzpatrick has been rug hooking for nearly three decades and has become a prominent name in the world of rug hookers worldwide. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Canadian Museum of History, the Art Gallery of NS, and the Art Gallery of NL; and in 2023, she was the recipient of The Order of Canada for her contributions to her craft.
She fills her days running her shop in downtown Amherst where she displays her one of a kind hooked rugs, creates kits and patterns, hosts workshops, and sells supplies. She has also authored several books, creates a weekly newsletter and podcast, and still manages to hook a little bit each day - phew!
When we were approached to become retailers of her Beginner Hooking Kits, it was a resounding “YES!”. Deanne has made it incredibly easy and approachable with these kits for absolute beginners to complete a beautiful hooked rug all by themselves.
Each kit comes with both written and video instruction and contains everything you need to complete the rug in just 1-3 hours! The completed kit makes a great wall hanging, table mat, coaster, or pillow. If you’ve ever wanted to give rug hooking a try, this is the perfect place to start. It’d also be a great gift for mom, or your favourite crafty friend!
We have nine different designs to choose from: Sleepy sheep in lavender fields, a bright red cardinal, rose fields and coastal landscapes, East Coast farmhouses and fishing villages, and a beautiful poppy.
